Can you see him?

January 26th, 2006 - 1 day old
I remember thinking that the red hat was perhaps the ugliest hat I had ever seen and why did they insist that my new baby boy wear this thing? Brady couldn't maintain his body temperature very well the first few days of life so they wanted him to wear that silly warm hat that some sweet lady knitted for the new babies at the hospital. Well now, looking back this is perhaps one of my most favorite, cherished pictures of Brady. And I adore that sweet red hat.

And today, October 1st...
The curious toddler found the beloved hat, it normally sits atop the head of that little wooden bear in the picture either up on a shelf or now, in the new house, as a door stop. Brady has never noticed the hat before but today, he came running into my room wearing it, laughing and laughing. I laughed too and through my laughter, a few tears.

Can you still see him, that sweet baby boy swaddled up tight...today with that sheepish grin and curly hair? This sentimental fool can.

Stop! You've got me all sappy too, oh he's always been such a sweet lovable soul, you can see it in his eyes from day one and now, almost 3 years later!

Oh,you are making me cry. I found a similar hat of EJ's from the NICU and the memories just start coming through. Brady is so sweet and adorable in both pictures. Cherish them forever. Soon you will have a new little hat, but pink this time :)

Oh my gosh! How precious is that! Are you going to use that hat for Lucy?

Yes Carrie, I'm hoping to have Lucy wear this hat in the hospital but I'm not sure how stretched out it is now that B wears it almost daily!
