Ten on Wednesday because I was too tired on Tuesday

1. After asking Mike for months (fine, nagging), he built this for Brady and Lucy. You can see here in this picture that it was getting a lot of love and attention by Brady and his friends. I even saw some of those Dada's playing on it.

2. My Mom was here for several days late last week into the weekend, we had a wonderful time with her, Brady and Lucy loved all the extra attention of course and I am grateful for all the help with them, the cleaning and other chores.

3. Lucy has, in the past week, become very mobile. Rolling all over the place. I tried to "illustrate" in this picture her movement in a matter of seconds. She was in the far right corner of that yellow blanket on the floor and I turned my back and then she was under the swing. Do you see her? Time to think about (re)baby proofing.

4. While my Mom was here we went to Lebanon, OH, about 30 mins. from her to visit with my Godmother, Marian who lives in Chicago. She was in Cincinnati for the long weekend. Below are some pictures with her. My Mom and Marian went to college together and have been dear friends ever since.

5. My new favorite picture of Brady.
6. One of our playgroup friends, EJ, is moving away. We are so very sad. But at the same time, so happy for the Sanchez family, they are moving home to Springfield, IL and will be surrounded my their families. What a blessing. We wish them the best life has to offer.

7. A few weeks ago (I've been so behind on the blogging thing), we had the great pleasure of meeting Sarah, her brother, Ephraim and their Mama, Erin. I've been reading Erin's blog for a few months now, they were in Dayton for 2 weeks and they came to Possum Creek Farm with us one beautiful morning. What a wonderful family, all full of big personality and kind hearts. Thanks for meeting up with us, Erin!!

This picture makes me laugh because this is what Ephraim did the entire time we were with them! Running and running and running! Just what 18 month olds do best!

8. My sister signed up to run her second marathon and it just so happens that it's the Air Force Marathon here in Dayton, Ohio!!! I'm so excited that we will get to watch this one live and in person!

9. The last weekend in July, my best friends from high school are getting together to celebrate being 30 years young. It's going to be a fantastic weekend!! One of those friends, Brenna, is celebrating 30 today! Happy Birthday BK. I met Brenna when we were in the 3rd grade. And Kelly turns 3o on May 31st, I also met Kelly in the 3rd grade. Dana has a few more weeks of being in her 20's, July 17th is her big day! Dana and I met in the 5th grade! And then later down the road Dana met Kelly and Brenna and the rest is history! Brenna lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, Kelly lives in Portland, OR and Dana lives right up the road from me in Columbus.

10. Oh and lastly, if you haven't heard, Mike's deployment was pushed back 'til late August give or take a few days. We are so happy to have him home for the summer but so very sad that he will miss Halloween, Thanksgiving, Lucy's 1st Birthday, Christmas, our anniversary and his 30th birthday. The military has sent us on a run around the past two months, goodness!!

Today....

....was the day that Brady met his sister Lucy. Well, ok, obviously not for the first time although it kind of felt like it because today was the day that he realized that she is sweet and cute, today was the day that he actually played with her for the first time and today was the day that he said these words to me: "Mama I really love this Lucy".

We really love her too, B. And we really love you.

Rewind

Things around this little blog might be all over the place the next few days/weeks. I don't know where to begin...we had our Gracie Girl here, Lucy found her feet, we went to Disney World, Lucy had her first baby food...I think I'll rewind to our visit with Grace.

Sarah and I were just amazed at how well these two played together. It's like they didn't miss a beat. We always thought when they were little that there was something special between them but, I'll admit, I thought that since they hadn't seen each other in over a year that the magic might have faded away. I was so very wrong.

I could rant on and on about how much this little girl means to all of us Zollars and how much her Mama and Dada mean to us. You know that feeling you get when you are with friends you love, like you could spend all day and all night talking and laughing, reminicising about the good ol' days, dreaming about what's to come...yeah, that's what it's like when we are with The Hoffman's and I hope that one day the Air Force will let our paths cross again.

Firsts

First time touching grass, we picked some super soft grass at Epcot.
First hugs from Mickey Mouse. She was fascinated with Mickey's hands, this is one of the only pictures I got that she wasn't looking down at those white gloves.

First time swimming, we have a million and one pictures of this event too but if you look real hard at this one, she is smiling wide.

He "choosed"

You see, we've been asking Brady for the past two weeks if he was going to hug Mickey, or Pluto, or Goofy and his answer "I haven't choosed yet". Yesterday we got the answer to our question:
