Finally, we got a "real" snowstorm that started yesterday and is still happening as I type. The base is even closed...that's when you know that this is a fairly significant snow! So we are happy to have Mike home for the day to help cure those middle of the week blahs. I snuck out since Lucy is sleeping to take some pictures...the boys are still out in the snow, Lulu and I are warm in the house. It's a good day.

Where anyone can grow up to be President
Although I may not have voted for the new President of this great country, I can appreciate the magnitude of this day, the first African-American being inaugurated as President of the United States. It truly is an amazing day for this country, politics aside. I'm glad that Brady and Lucy will know that ANYONE can grow up to be President....
Brady watching the inauguration...he was fascinated with it. Lucy is sound asleep in the beanbag.Saturday, January 17, 2009
This Modern Mommy
Somehow in the midst of a busy day yesterday I forgot to mention that I was featured on a great blog called Modern Mommyhood. I love reading this blog, it's full of great ideas, tips, and stories from other Mommy's who are trying to "make the most of every moment". Go check out Rachel's blog and you can read a bit about my take on being a Mama.

Worth the wait
Since the end of December, Lucy has been smiling at us. You know, the real thing, where you know she's smiling at you. Silly-faced goofy doing whatever it takes to get a smile you. I haven't been able to capture these smiles on "film" yet. But today, thanks to the quickness of the new cam, I was able to get these.
*Disclaimer: I still don't know what I'm doing with this camera. I was experimenting with settings when I captured these so I feel like they are a bit fuzzy and kind of dark. But I still love them. Major learning curve.

Ten on Tuesday, the new camera edition
1. I haven't done a Ten on Tuesday in a long time!
2. Yesterday I got my new digital SLR camera and I am beside myself over it :) I don't know how to use the thing but I'll learn and the pictures will get better I'm sure. I can tell the difference though in the picture quality even just using the "Auto" mode. Look out Brady and Lucy, your every move will be documented from here on out. Actually that's not anything new, I'll just be doing it with a better camera!
3. Here is a pic of Brady and Lucy I took this morning. I can read their minds in this pic...
"Mom, seriously? Stop taking our picture, you have enough already" 4. And one of Lucy, I'm sure this is the first of many times she'll stick her tounge out at me when I take her picture.

5. Loving touch of a brother's hand....
6. Mike is home on "paternity" leave = greatest thing ever. Thank you President Bush.
7. I've ordered Lucy's birth announcement from this etsy shop and I can't wait to share it with you! The designer, Tsh, is awesome and she has been amazing helping me make a very custom announcement. I meant to get these done right after she was born but I was in a fog. And on top of that, only recently have I gotten pictures of this baby girl with her eyes opened.
8. Lucy finally got a crib! Only 5 weeks late!

EnterTRAINment Junction
WOW! EnterTRAINment Junction opened in August of 2008 in West Chester,OH which is half way between Dayton and Cincinnati. We took Brady on Thursday and spent almost 4 hours there enjoying the world's largest indoor train display. This place is a little boy's dream.
And my little boy hasn't stopped talking about it.

Thank goodness....
....for babywearing! Nothing would get done and Brady wouldn't have a very fun Mama to play with if I didn't have this Moby Wrap
She'll sleep for hours in there if I let her!

Behind
This picture sums up my life right now! Behind on everything! The good thing is all of that laundry is clean, now if I could just find time to fold it and put it away!
I'll try to catch up, I promise, with pictures from Christmas and Mike's trip to The Rose Bowl. But right now, this little girl is taking up a lot of time for she likes to be held and cuddled and I hate to pass up a cuddly, snuggly, warm little one.
Ok, enough blogging, maybe I should go fold that laundry?!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, do you know how loved you are?

This picture isn't the best but it made me laugh, Mike was giving Lulu play by play of the Fiesta Bowl, she was kind of propped up on his side.
